Robot's Workshop: Episode (Order) 66 - Very buggin' bro!
Ready up! Monster Monday? More like... Robot... uhhhhhhhhh... So the theme was bugs, and I thought this was a perfect time to redesign my Bee bot, now renamed to Sting. Team's plucky wisecracking scout. Basically Animated Bumblebee in spirit.
I think I may redesign the pose to be more accurate to his personality. I'll delve more into his character later on in the post. Art is WIP, sadly.
First: Uzi (Solver Variant)
A mutated version of Uzi, she now possesses wings and a tail that is also alive, and probably has it's own personality.
Fun Fact: One of the shades of purple is an old LEGO color called "Sand Purple" which was discontinued after the LEGO theme "Life on Mars" ended. Hoping that some of the colors that were discontinued in that era could make a comeback like how Teal/Dark Turquoise did.
Design taking inspiration from the official Animatez figure, which sadly, is limited edition.Tessa, the human character introduced at the end of episode 3, later with a more prominent role in 5 and 6.
The bright colors of the Animatez figures works perfectly towards making this figure. The whites, grays, blacks, and orange would be perfect for LEGO to design off of. That, and it is a simplistic style.
Now that we got that out of the way. I've been working with storymaster Isabel on laying out the foundation of a series I plan on making featuring my OCs. A classic tale of good and evil and those in between, with morals being challenged. And of course, trying to put a twist on the Three Laws of Robotics, delving into how some robots are treated like machines.
It is also the classic tale of the Hero's Journey.
A world where there are humans that consider robots just advanced machines that just look humanoid.
That's where the main hero and villain story comes in.
As far as how he came to be, Reizer and Seiber were built as brothers by engineer/scientist that has yet to be named. Because he's the only human they knew as a parent, they both refer to him as "Dad". A cute, wholesome dynamic.
The villain of the story in the past was mistreated by humans. Beaten up, kicked around, this robot lashes out and plots to eliminate humanity.
My main OC, Reizer, is an optimistic type. Always seeing the good in humanity, even when there are bad people. Always with a heart of gold. Always faceing challenges with a heart of steel.
His brother, Seiber, is more realistic. Despite not having as much optimism, he supports his brother, no matter what.
Side/Supporting Characters:
Every good story has side characters. Character arcs are optional.
Unnamed Robot Mod Shopkeeper (Human): Quirky and chunky human shopkeeper selling robot mods, and he also provides moral support/ideas.
"Listen boys, not everything can be solved with mods or fighting."
Riot: A punk-style fembot that is chaotic, but she has a heart of gold. Might be Reizer's GF later.
Sting: Once again, very plucky bee-bot scout. (Also the kind of person to unironically watch the Bee Movie.)
(According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly.)
Frostbyte: A robot with the power of ice, and a cold personality. You could say he's ice-olated!
- Character Arc: He learns to warm up to others, and as a result, he becomes more chill than cold.
Neutral Party:
Downplay: While he's not really a fighting type of bot, he prefers vibing and breakdancing. He always loves what the heroes do to save the world.
Dusk and Dawn: Two robot girlfriends (by which I mean, they love each other.) are also popstars. Kind of like J-Pop anime characters.
Overload: And a past character I made comes into play. Starts out without much of a personality, then becomes curious. He'd probably ask my OC... who he thinks he is. Probably drives an interesting case of discovering yourself. Self-identity.
Rivals/Villains:
No heroes can exist without villains to fight.
Wildfire: She's a chaotic, evil fembot that loves to burn things to the ground. Direct opposite to the lawful-good that is Frostbyte.
"Ugh! You're no fun, Frosty!"
Hi-Jak: Neutral Evil Wasp-themed robot sent to "offline" the heroes. His rival, Sting, really gets him angry. If I had the money, I'd cast either Will Arnett, or Justin Theroux.
Ferus: An old robot prototype with extremely corrupted AI. Discovered how people have gained power just from abuse alone. His name comes from his model number F3R-U5 and one of the latin words for savage.
I think I have room for one more villain character, but I don't want this series to suffer from over-bloated characters. We'll see.
